GABRIELLE ALVARADO Y CHRISTINE LaBITA
PROPIETARIOS AFT3R
Gabi es exadministradora de escuela primaria y maestra de salón de Houston ISD. Trabajó en un entorno de escuela primaria durante 15 años. Tiene una licenciatura en ciencias en estudios interdisciplinarios y dos maestrías en educación: una maestría en administración y supervisión y una maestría en currículo e instrucción.
Gabi está certificada con el Estado de Texas como Directora, Generalista de Educación Infantil y Primaria y Generalista de Inglés. Es directora de programas con licencia del Departamento de Servicios para la Familia y de Protección de Texas. Le encanta trabajar con niños en cualquier entorno y establecer relaciones duraderas con sus estudiantes y sus familias. Aft3r es una extensión del valor que ella otorga a los programas de apoyo educativo de calidad.
Chris es un ex maestro de aula de escuela primaria en Houston ISD. Ha abierto dos escuelas primarias y, como resultado, está familiarizada con todos los aspectos de la planificación de proyectos y el desarrollo de programas. Su experiencia docente incluye Pre-K, Kindergarten y 2do grado. Chris está certificado por el estado de Texas como educador de la primera infancia, generalista de primaria y profesor de inglés como segundo idioma. Chris disfruta del desarrollo de nuevos programas y supervisa el plan de estudios STEAM mensual en nuestras escuelas. Es muy creativa y le encanta ver cómo sus planes se hacen realidad en manos de un niño.
IMMAN EKWERE
PROGRAM DIRECTOR
RECRUITING and HIRING COORDINATOR
Imman joined HISD in 2009 as a part-time employee and rapidly moved up to a full-time supervisory position for over 6 years. Imman joined Aft3r in 2012 as a caregiver and quickly became a site director.
Her leadership skills led to her becoming a part of our Aft3r Administrative Team. Imman has gained an abundant amount of training and experience from her directors and colleagues. She is a State Certified Program Director.
As our Compliance Director, she has the tough job of making sure everyone adheres to the rules set forth by the state and Aft3r, but there is no one better for the job. Imman is a great coach and instructor.
She also actively recruits, hires trains and assists our site directors and caregivers. Imman is very driven and self-motivated: she can do anything she sets her mind to. She loves being a part of the Aft3r A-Team!
Imman is the mother of two wonderful boys and she loves to cook and eat. WE like it when she cooks for us!
KATELEY HOPPER
CURRICULUM SPECIALIST
and MARKETING
Kateley is a graduate of Katy ISD. She has worked with children most of her teen and adult life. Before coming to Aft3r, she served as the Program Director for Children’s Learning Adventure. Kateley started with us as a caregiver, but rapidly showed strengths in areas of leadership, creativity in arts, social media and curriculum development. She has developed a S.T.E.A.M. based curriculum specifically for the Aft3r program. Through Kateley’s curriculum, all sites have grade level specific, hands-on, 30-45 minute FUN projects that combine science, technology, engineering, art, and math into individual and group-based products. She is a fantastic organizer with an eye for detail. Kateley is a fantastic member of our team!
ABI FERNANDEZ
LICENSING and COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Abi graduated from the University of Houston - Downtown with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary studies. She began her career in childcare as a nanny and caregiver. After realizing her passion for childcare, she worked for Child Care Regulatory as an Licensing Inspector III. During her time working for Licensing, she met Gabi, Chris, Coty and many other Aft3r staff members, and developed a great working relationship with Aft3r. In May of 2022, Aft3r invited Abi to join our ATEAM as the Licensing and Compliance Director. Abi ensures all Aft3r sites are in compliance with State requirements and regulations. Abi LOVES collecting artwork from her students and seeing them become little Picassos!
MARITZA GONZALES
OFFICE MANAGER
Martiza was born and raised in Houston, TX. She is of Colombian and Cuban heritage and is fluent in both English and Spanish. She is a proud mother of 2 boys and 1 girl. Her favorite activity to do with students is Arts & Crafts. She’s worked in both Montessori and public schools since the age of 18. From teacher’s assistant to after school program director. She has worked with all elementary grade levels PreK - 5th as well as middle school age students. She has taken a step back from the classroom and is now in the administrative role as office manager for After 3.
COTY WRIGHT
AFT3R ENRICHMENT COORDINATOR
and AREA LEADER
Coty is a Certified Program Director with the state of Texas. She has worked with children for over 18 years. Coty's enjoyment of her job, and true passion and love of working with children, shines through in all she does.
Coty is responsible for the coordination of A3 Enrichment Providers and administrative office duties, including account collections.
Her favorite things about working with children are seeing the expression on the face of a child as they discover something new and watching them perform a new skill without assistance for the first time.
Coty is well-loved by parents, staff and students alike. She is an Aft3r Veteran and has been with us since 2011 when we were just an idea! Coty is a true asset to the Aft3r A-Team.
Coty is the mother of two wonderful boys.
